Allan Yorke Park

Bonney Lake, WA

Allan Yorke Park is a distinct and well-loved resource within the City of Bonney Lake, yet its current configuration does not meet growing community demands. Its waterfront is confined and prone to overcrowding, with the adjacent boat launch often causing traffic congestion. The interior green hosts a successful summer concert series yet has limited infrastructure and is cutoff from the lake. Extensive public outreach included tabling at summer events, online surveys, plus an in-person open house. Residents provided clear feedback calling for improved community uses and safety, while also emphasizing the need to better leverage the site’s unique qualities.

MxM team members worked with the City to develop a bold park vision that begins by realigning W Tapps Highway to the interior of the site, establishing an uninterrupted connection between the park’s core and the transformed shoreline. A spray park offers waterplay for young visitors, while new facilities feature restrooms, concessions, and storage. A covered stage bookends the central gathering space, as improved pathways connect the park’s rich mix of sport and natural resources.
