Appleway Trail

SPOKANE VALLEY, WA

MxM team members led the master planning, public outreach and design for the Appleway Trail, a 2-mile, 25-acre shared use corridor in the heart of the City of Spokane Valley. The master plan concept transformed this underutilized corridor into a high-quality regional amenity and neighborhood asset.

Following Council adoption of the master plan and in response to funding needs, the design team worked with the City to develop multiple plan, specifications and estimates packages over a three-year period. The team prepared a phased bid and construction package to allow the City to complete critical earthwork and paving prior to the end of the asphalt paving season, which allowed the community to use the path before final planting and plaza improvements were installed in the spring.
