SeaTac Safe and Complete Streets

MxM team members led the development of SeaTac’s first Safe and Complete Streets Plan. The plan, developed as part of the Seattle—King County Communities Putting Prevention to Work program—supports the City’s efforts to “make the healthy choice, the easy choice” as part of the. Efforts focused on identifying policy, system and environmental changes that would support the reduction of health inequities in King County, WA and specifically address obesity in SeaTac.

The Safe and Complete Streets plan identified priority pedestrian and bicycle connections, defined a facility typology tool box, creating a public walking map, and made recommendations for funding improvements. The plan also guided the subsequent Transportation Plan update and the 2014 Major Comprehensive Plan Update. The Draft Plan was adopted by SeaTac City Council resolution with a unanimous vote.
